My roommate just bought this for the 360, anyone else have it? What do you think of it?

I hated 07' for the 360, it seemed rushed. But 08' rocks

madden 08 afaik, is only good on the 360. EA seemed to have done a crap job on the ps3 version due to "not knowing the hardware well enough"

yeah ea did a hack job on the ps3 version since they'll make more money on the 360 version.

I have this one friend who WILL NOT PLAY unless its on the PS2. He complains about the controls of the game vs a PS2.

You guys are saying the PS3 version is shit, makes me laugh. I used to play my PS2 alot, but when madden 06' came out on xbox, its just so much better. 07' sucked, and now 08 truley rocks. If anyone here's got it lets practice for a little bit and try a xbox live game sometime over the weekend

serious...60 bux for an updated roster and stats.  oh and a new box...can u imagine madden failing...ea would be done for.

I hope this isn't your reasoning for not buying the game. Cause i can make the same case for pretty much anything you can think of in the world, game or non-gamming

stats/roster is part of it, but you can use "weapons" in the game, its better timed, and looks amazing.


warcraft bc, $50 for...the same game (just a few updates)

starcaft (anything past 1st version).....same game....starcraft 2 is going to be the same as starcraft 1, except some updates stats and a few new characters\

if wow and starcraft failed...blizz would be done

Now, wow and starcraft are just examples i'm using to show that, "updated roster and stats" is not the only thing that maddon 08' brings

imma have to disagree with you on this one.  they have ALOT of new units with different funtionalities.  this means there will be much much more strategies to use, overcome, adapt, and learn.  older units get different abilities too.  the graphics are completely re-done and is pure eyecandy.

no thats exactly why i dont' buy madden or any sports games for that matter.  for the most part, year to year you get updated stats and rosters with a few trivial updates.  really if someone shuffled up all the maddens for the ps2 and just started the game could you really tell which one was madden 03, 04, 05 etc?  i couldnt.  but hey, your money, your time, feel free to spend it how you like.

if you don't play madden, that’s fine, like you said "your money, your time, feel free to spend it how you like". But you can not make such a blanket statement about a game or an entire genre that you don't play or even enjoy, "all they do is update rosters and stats", that simply is not true no matter how many times you say it. If that’s all the updates then it shouldn't take a year to develop, it should only take about 20 minutes so they can update stats/roster and reprint cd's to ship.......

you take madden 03' and 06', and try to tell me that there is no difference, that’s its the same game

the same goes for 07' and 08', i triple-dog-dare you try and tell me all they did was update stats/rosters

As somebody who plays Madden off and on, I only buy it every other year..if ever. All they do is add new features or try to fix them, which most of the time don't truly affect the gameplay. I ignore most of them because I don't care for them at all. I played Madden '99 for 3+ years on the N64 before even considering to get the latest one. It was gonna be the same for Unreal Tournament, they put out 2k3 and then 2k4 and 2k4 wasn't that much of a diff except for Onslaught (which I never played) and a weak attempt of bringing back Assault mode.

I have '07 on the Wii and I'm not even thinking about getting '08 because I honestly don't see the point. For the Wii, the online would be cool but then I would have wasted my money on '07...it's a lose-lose situation for me. Besides, I've been havin too much fun with Mario Strikers (even though the AI is cheap as hell).
