hmm i never played the diablo series. Is this more of an RTS or an RPG/MMO?

When is it coming out anyway, hope not another game that got to wait till at least next year...

Its kind of action RPG, connecting to Battle.net for multiplayer, with limited amount of player for each game, I think it was up to 4 in Diablo 2.

it's the epitome of hack and slash dungeon crawling.  Diablo II had 5 different "Acts".  In each act, the map is randomly generated and you go through a series of quests in each act.  It's kind of an RPG as well since there's a main storyline that you progress around.  What made it so popular was the multiplayer aspect.  If you've every played the arcade "Gauntlet" you kind of have an idea.  But Gauntlet took place in just a dungeon. The Diablo series takes place in an actual world called Sanctuary.  Sanctuary was set up during a war between Heaven and Hell when a bunch of rogue angels and demons decided they wanted to make nice.  They created humanity and now all kind of fun chaos is taking place.  It's got a pretty cool storyline.  The Diablo series was always kind of dark and gothic horror.  Lots of exploding corpses.

So do answer your question in a simple manner, it's pretty much an RPG.  I'd have to say the Diablo series is one of the more enjoyable ones that I've played.

hope you can just hold down the button and your guy keeps swinging instead of having to click click click click like diablo1 and 2.  multiplayer should be fun unless they pull a hellgate london and decide to charge for "premium" content.  we'll see i guess.

Um you guys know if you stick attack or any attack ability (not spell) in your right mouse button, you could just hold it down right?  IE I would run around with double swing or frenzy on my barbarian and just hold down mouse2 to clear the level.
