...is iPhone launch day and the opening of a new Pixar movie.   I'm kinda meh on the iPhone since I don't feel like paying $500+ for a phone, but Holy and I are really stoked to see Ratatouille.   Anyone else gonna run to one of these events over the weekend?

those are the rate plans that come with the phone.  not only is the cheapest plan about twice as expensive as a normal cell plan with a "regular" phone, but imo it seems like the prices themselves are ~20% more expensive than what they should be considering what they're giving you.  at least "unlimited 'data' services" are included.

wow thats close to 800 bux if u're going with the cheapest plan.  i'd be scurred to carry that thing around...might drop it, sit on it, loose it, get shot for it, etc.

i don't think it matters if gen2 supports 3g or something better than edge, doesn't the carrier have to have the infrastructure to provide it?

i blame verizon for not signing on as the iphone's service provider.

at&t wireless already does for their pda phones (htc and palm). iphone still does do wifi, but from personal experience, finding a hotspot is more troublesome than being always connected to the service's data plan. it's just saddening that a "high tech" phone is crippled by using old gen data (which most reviews rant about so far), but hey, I'm sure it's plenty enough for mail/web browsing with the phone *shrug*. I guess it comes down to the price for most, you can almost buy a ps3!

you can just buy the phone and when you sync it to your itunes, you can select your plan and activate from there. all from the comfort of your own home without having some sales guy breathing down your neck.

so ehh this thing has a built in battery rather than a removable battery pack...is that battery replaceable or r they gonna go tell you to go buy another iphone like they did with the ipods.

or the bigger and more immediate problem of when your phone crashes and you need to remove the battery to restart it, haha.  you all know what i'm talking about!

I have no idea about the iPhone, but Ratatouille was excellent.   One of the best Pixar features to date.   Ratatouille >>>>>>> Shrek the 3rd.   I highly recommend it for those who like Pixar films in general.

So I got an iphone on friday, and.......... I am loving it. Think this will be the last phone I will ever own. I think I will own an iphone as long as apple continues to make them.
