My new favorite Firefox addon

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

My pages are so fresh and so clean-clean.   Now those stupid animated adds won't eat up cycles on my processor when I have FF minimized while playing WoW.

lol at the idiot who is crying "This is STEALINGZ!"

"I'm the web master of over 50 site, many of which are paid for by advertising. I don't do pop-ups and the ads involved are not intrusive. Web masters provide you with content to enjoy and expect something in return. Is the presence of a few ads too much to ask?

I've installed scripting on my sites to detect Adblock plus and redirect those using it to a page where they are informed that thieves are not welcome at that site. Don't be surprised if you find more and more web sites blocking thieves who steal resources without paying for them with the presence of ads. And that is what you are if you use Adblock Plus--A THIEF!

its funny how this idiot thinks you HAVE to view ads.  there isn't anyone here that watches commercials on TV... or else that's consider "stealing TV."  alot of people flip thru channels when commercials are on.  some ads and banners take up large chunks of bandwidth due to their complexity.  people pay for their own bandwidth and has a choice on which ad to view and not view.

gawd i remember getting into some argument with nutjob who had the same mentality. he believed that pop up blockers and disabling javascript was illegal and should be removed from browsers because he has a right as an advertiser to advertise any way he chooses.  maybe it's the same guy haha

On the same mentality:
"I pay for internet access.  Why should I have to pay (by seeing ads) to access your website?"

I don't mind the small text ads as much.  It's the stupid ones with dancing aliens, pooping chickens, dancing presidents and mini games that piss me off.   They take up cycles even with FF minimized and slow my computer significantly if I'm doing other processor intensive things (read: WoW).

let it be known that firefox itself is a memory hog. one time my minimized instance of firefox ate up 2gigs of ram when all it had open was google. firesux
