Re: Old Timer's Thread

Did anyone mention Land of the Lost?

My sister and I used to watch that.

Re: Old Timer's Thread

"Land of the Lost was a half-hour Saturday-morning children's series that originally aired on ABC during the early 1990s."

"A remake of the cult 1974 series Land of the Lost by Sid and Marty Krofft, the new Land of the Lost saw advanced special effects and a lighter, less survivalist-oriented tone. Although debated, it is considered by most to be an inferior copy of the original series."

You bracketed the 80's PHAIL!

Re: Old Timer's Thread

the question for me invariably is what music and movies from our youth are considered "classics" now..

cuz TV shows come and go.... but good music sticks around

i'll go first. the first album of any music that i ever owned was Michael Jackson's Thriller, on cassette of course.

Re: Old Timer's Thread

Metallica's self titled for me. I'd say their first 4 but I was 6 by the time ...And Justice For All came out.

Hmm...Soundgarden's Superunknown as well even though that was 1994, could also say Badmotorfinger. Oo oo ooo Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power.

Re: Old Timer's Thread

as far as metallica goes, i have kill em all, ride the lightning, garage days revisited, master of puppets, the self-titled all on cassette. i have a Master of Puppets on vinyl, too...

i've got Cowboys from Hell and Vulgar Display of Power on cassette also.
as well as a bunch of anthrax, sepultura, etc.  all the good ol thrash stuff. even a few slayer albums.

how i ended up being a primarily hip hop beat driven turntablist is beyond me, but i have appreciation for all kinds of music

Re: Old Timer's Thread

Holy and I have a bunch of 80's alternative vinyl.   Between the 2 of us, easily 200 or so albums and 12" singles.    We just can't seem to part with them :smileyhappy:
