Re: RFID Chips on Alzheimer's

actually sounds like a good idea for alzheimer patients...if they wander off they can't get back and you have no idea where they went..would make tracking them down alot easier...besides even if they protest they would have forgotten about it five minutes later...oh.

not to derail the thread, but what browser are you using, what skin are you using, and what are you doing to frequently make it so your posts end up having odd colors.

I've noticed that with IE, if you select the post you're posting, it can do what ham has here.

yeah i don't have an issue with tagging ppl i mentioned above.. but what if we're done tagging all of those people?  what if a government decide that ALL of it's citizens must have 1 in order to fuction in society?  like, you can't purchase anything w/o it?

kinda reminds me of Minority Report.  they had EVERYONE's eye retina on file.  so whenever you walked into a store, it would recognize  your and your name and start issuing out "specials" of the store catered to your specific needs or preset favorites.

it does raise a question of privacy.

Re: RFID Chips on Alzheimer's

the thing that I don't like about this is that I've already been registered by the government due to the Mutant Registration Act (F U Senator Kelly!!)

Re: RFID Chips on Alzheimer's

I would voluntarily have a chip implanted in me if it could hold the following information:

Drivers' License/ID
Passport
Credit card/bank card info
Medical records
etc

Then anytime I went anywhere all I had to do was scan my wrist or something? And never have to carry anything around? I'm down for that.

Would the info be held on the chip itself or the chip only has a number linked to a database with all that info.    If it was on the chip, you could steal a lot of info and the victim would never know.

And then people would steal your wrists instead of your kidneys.

Re: RFID Chips on Alzheimer's

The RFID thing is just a number that links you to a national database, so it could contain whatever the DB supported. Basically, it could be the same as your SSN...
