Re: Superbowl Commercials

overall were pretty lame this year...guess because of the insane cost to advertise during the game there just weren't alot of companies doing ads...there were like 10 coke ads, 10 bud ads and 20 commercials for cbs shows.  at least the game was good.

Re: Superbowl Commercials

I didn't like the Coke commercials.   The GTA ripoff particularly annoyed me.   I did find most of the Career Builder, K-Fed and the Mencia one amusing.

The GTA one is adapted from a movie theater commercial from like two years ago. In its original form I thought it was quite good, but condensed into 30 second form it loses some of its charm.

Re: Superbowl Commercials

I think some of the Bud Light one's weren't too bad (the gorillas, the hitchhikers), the Snickers commercial made me cringe, and the Blockbuster one was kind of cute.  Overall, I think i was actually more interested in the game this year than the commercials though... plus a decent half-time show for a change.

they didn't really use a lot of celebrities or hot chicks this year.  wth with trying to fix something that aint broke.

oh and i don't really think the cost of these things really affect much for these big companies.  these people probably wipe their derrieres with benjis.

The general sloppiness in the game made it more exciting to watch in the first half because you were just waiting for the next fumble/interception to happen, which you would hope would lead to breakaway runs.   By the 2nd half though I had lost much of the interest because it seemed clear that unless Chicago got defensive touchdowns or something was returned by special teams that they were going to lose.   Grossman is such a chucker, he will throw to anyone who is open even if they are wearing the other team's uniform.

Re: Superbowl Commercials

ya i liked the Bud Light hitchhiker one..

Driver: hey lets pick this guy up. he has a Bud Light 6 pack.
Passenger: but he's also holding an axe..
D: but he's also got Bud Light..
P: he's ALSO got an axe
(picks up the hitchhiker)
D: so.. why do you have that axe?
Hitchhiker: um.. it's a bottle opener..
(car travels a bit more down the road)
D: hey lets pick up THIS guy.. he has a 6-pack of Bud Light too..
Hitchhiker in the back seat: yeah but he has a chainsaw~

man, it was crazy watching that rain come down. why didn't dungy just throw a poncho on or something, lol.

i wonder what the news is like this morning in chicago..  remember that play where the colts fumbled to the bears, then the bears (grossman) fumbled the next play?  i mean, i know grossman can't throw the ball, but was it me or was he unable to handle a snap. sheesh.
