Why you don't let someone borrow your $1.5M car

Undercover Brother needs some driving lessons (and probably an attorney).

Two things: 1) homeboy wasn't even going that fast and he lost control. 2) what's with that guy just standing calmly at the concrete barrier right when eddie slams into it? He's lucky the barrier was there, or he'd have gotten pwnt.

Re: Why you don't let someone borrow your $1.5M car

Hmmm, doesn't seem like the cost of the car hurt the owner much.

news story states how 2 x porsche gt's were crashed also in the making of the movie, "Redline," both worth $500k each.  I doubt Eddie Griffin will suffer any financial repercussions for this "accident."  Considering how much press the crash has gotten, I'd say it's kinda worth the cost of the car.  There'll be far more buzz about the movie as a result.

But still... poor car... can I salvage it? :smileyvery-happy:

i think the limited nature of the car is what hurt the most rather than the cost. they are for the most part irreplaceable at this point in time. reading that story brought a tear to my eye.

Read this morning it was all fake, a viral marketing ploy for the movie.
If you look in the video circulating around there's a guy by the concrete barrier he hits, doesn't even move.

Looked pretty real to me.   There were local news crews and everything, unless the car was fake, do you have a link?

that's really interesting.  the card definitely could've been a fake.  But then again, carbon fiber shouldn't crunch like that either.  it should pretty much disintegrate.

Well, if you look closely at the crash the body is not made of metal, it does shatter like something made of carbon fiber, fiberglass, or plastic.   If this were fake, it would probably still be an expensive fake.   Even replicas can cost quite a bit because of the one-off parts that are required especially on something that is a convincing fake.      I've seen Ford Pontiac Fieros with body kits being passed of as Ferraris, which this clearly is not.
