is rated pg13.....the hell man.  yippey kayay mr trucker!!!  ffs die hard was all about the over the top violence and action....I mean seriously the core story of all the die hards is as basic and cliche as it gets.  It was the over the top action and violence and cursing and gritty raw setting that carried the previous 3 movies.  take all that away with a pg13 rating and what you're left with is XXX.

i am in total 100% agreement with you on this.

actually i saw a rated PG-13 movie w/ the words "ass" and "sh!t" repeated thru-out the movie.  so i dunno if they alllow f-bombs but that rating isn't as tame as it seems.

best example that I can give of a neutered movie is aliens vs predator.  originals were gruesome and schocking.  the aliens can be seen bursting through the chest and they showed the skinned corpses of the predators prey.  I mean stuff like that defined those characters.  scenes like that to this day defined those movies.  in avp rather than showing the alien bursting out their chest we see a sweater with a lump coming out of it and before it pops out the screen goes black.  instead of seeing the predator slice someone in half with his disc dealy or see the metal net slowly constrict and slice someone into cubes we either see shadows of the action or the scene cuts away.  if the originals were like avp no one would know or care about aliens or predator.

well, in the case of PVA, they did that on purpose to draw in more audience - i.e. they sold out and made a cheapass film, instead of remaining true to the gorefeast that any PVA can muster.  in retrospec, they should have just made it a gorefeast... not like an R rating stops kids from seeing them anyways...

unfortunately you are correct.  the time of the R rated action movie seems to have passed and what we're left with are watered down pussified shells of an action movie left over.  pretty soon rather than shooting it out with the bad guys they'll all go to therapy and talk things over.

You can drop the f-bomb 1-3 times in a PG-13 movie, as long as it isn't used for a sexual meaning. Of course there are exceptions, the movie 'Gunner Palace' had it 42 times...but thats 1 case

I was pissed when heard the rumor about it being PG-13....why...I mean why. Die Hard is one of my favorite action movies of all time, I'll see it anyways but man...ugh.

In terms of AvP, Paul W. Anderson can kiss my ass. He's messed up a few franchises. However, Anderson won't be attached to AvP2 which will be R rated and going back to the roots of Alien and Predator. WOOHOO! Seriously, I can't wait for that.

I saw it lastnight and I'm wanting to see it again. Seriously, this is a Die Hard movie through and through. It ranks up there with the original, in my honest opinion. Main reason it's not R is because it doesn't have any F bombs except for one of the most famous one liners in movie history.

The action is over the top just like it should be. Bruce Willis didn't change John one bit, he's just as wise cracking as he was in the first doing the usual like talking to himself wondering how he got into it again. It's seriously a great movie and I recommend it to any Die Hard fan. You will not be dissapoinited.

nice!  i was hoping someone would see it and give a thumbs up.  also yeah i heard about AVP2.  I really hope they don't fuck up that original storyline or at least don't screw up capturing the essence of what that series was about.

i saw it last night too, movie is pretty bad ass and i wonder how the hitman movie coming out in october is gonna be. the game was hella sick hopefully they dont ruin it with the movie
