Provided she's not a complete moron like W's Supreme Court nominee, Hariet Meyers, this could actually give McCain a bit of traction and make for a more intesting race.   It's interesting why he didn't chose a more experienced and prominant woman like Kay Bailey Hutchinson from Texas unless she comes with a lot of baggage that McCain didn't want to deal with.   This will play out more in the coming weeks as the magnifying lens of the media digs out every bit of dirt on her for all of us to see.

my initial thoughts were that this was a brilliant move by mccain because nobody saw this coming out of left field and that it would give him a chance.

now that i have sat around and woken up, this broad is younger and less experienced (and from a useless state) than obama is. as far as trying to appeal to hilary supporters, yeah she's a woman but she's also pro-life and ultimately anti same-sex marriage.

but hey other than that she's typical gop: offshore drilling, nra, don't tax the oil companies, etc etc etc. if anything, she shores up support for right wing nutjobs and beaters imo, where mccain hasn't had the solid support that typical gop get.

wonder how the conservatives that mccain is banking on will react to pallins undwed 17 year old daughter who's already 5 months pregnant.  take it he's not gonna go the family values route during this campaign eh?  guess we'll be finding out pretty soon whats going to send you to hell faster, voting for the mom of an unwed mom or voting for the black dood.
