grrrr zerg

i am having a hard time w/ early zergling rushes.

 

i get 2 gates, cyb core, and forge.  4 zealots weren't enough to withstand the initial surge.  then he keeps sending more zerglings.  whats a good strat vs early zergling rush? ramp block and cannons or just 1 gate and forge for weapon 1 upgrade?

Are you building your gates in such a way that your ramp can be blocked with 1 zealot? No amount of zergling should break through that if you just hold position with a couple zealots and have stalkers backing them up. It's like 300 spartans vs. 100,000 persians.

 

He has to go to baneling or roach.

i think thats where my problem lies.. i do place them down at the ramp but not tight enough for a choke point where its just 1 or 2 zealots wide.  i should be less sloppy about my gate placement.

Sometimes I build forge first and put a cannon near my probes (using the forge, pylon, and nexus as walls protecting 3 sides of the cannon) if I think the zerg may go for a fast rush (short map, early scouting by me).

wow I had my 1st Ling rush defended.got out 3 zealots and a sentry. blocked the passage enough w/ a sentry c-block, kept making sentrys and stalkers.

 

trained Hallu and faked in a void ray to scope out his area. then went robo build w/ colossus.  sure enough, he went hydras and roaches.

 

oh and my 2's /carriedbyUno thank you~ haha

 

Uno, you're good kid.  i learned a few things from your playing style.

he plays Toss and uses Sentries really well..it all makese sense now..

for Vista (for me anyways).  just upload the file.  it should be very small like 500kb at the most

heh nice.. i just did that in a 2's match... quite effective.  retarded T sent banshee and Hellions after the void rays..

they decreased the dmg done by them a bit BUT.. the continual shooting while moving is huge esp if you teched up and trained faster VR. 

 

  • hit gatherers
  • switch to the base when they pull away
  • run out when they bring in air defense.
  • repeat = much down time on resource gathering.

LOL at the nubb T player who brought in his banshee and hellions vs my VRs..

VRs actually don't shoot while moving but they drift quite a bit when you tell them to stop so you can micro them to keep the beam active.

 

If I remember that game correctly my partner wasn't that great and you hit just before I was ready for air.

 

I've been trying to get the 25 of each race win achievement lately. I'm playing through Zerg right now, which imo is probably my weakest race.

Also I play 2v2 random partners b/c it's hard to coordinate w/ ppl due to me playing at random times hehe.

I saw your early spawning pool and I walled off my base well before your lings attacked. Unfortunately my partner was stupid :smileytongue:

Pretty sure they shoot while moving since they were beaming units while I had them on the move command.

they pretty much do that after you have the upgrade, but only to targets in front of them
